Duterte urged to fire energy officials suspended twice over

LAWMAKERS called on President Rodrigo Duterte to fire the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) officials whom the Office of the Ombudsman suspended for the second time in six months because of neglect of duty.

Representatives Carlos Zarate of Bayan Muna party-list and France Castro of Alliance of Concerned Teachers party-list made the call in connection with the suspension order issued against ERC commissioners Gloria Victoria Yap-Taruc, Alfredo Non, Josefina Patricia Magpala-Asirit and Geronimo Sta. Ana because of their decision to allow the misuse of Bill Deposits (BD) by commingling   it with the capital or operation cost of Manila Electric Company (Meralco).
