ZAMBOANGA CITY: President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday meet with soldiers of the Philippine Army’s 1st Infantry Division in Labangan town here and told them of his rhetoric woes–from critics of his anti-drug campaign to threats of terrorism and the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.
Duterte was accompanied by Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana and Armed Forces chief Gen. Ricardo Visaya.
“I am making the rounds [of military camps]so that I will be able to have a good grasp [of the situation]. I like to meet you,” the President said.
He promised to uplift their welfare and provide them additional benefits.
