El Shaddai endorses Magsaysay, Bam Aquino

Charismatic group El Shaddai on Tuesday endorsed the candidacy of two senatorial bets from Team PNoy.

El Shaddai leader Bro. Mike Velarde endorsed Ramon “Jun” Magsaysay Jr. and Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino 4th to his members in the coming elections.

However, Bro. Rey Vargas, head of the Education Ministry of El Shaddai, clarified that
Velarde’s endorsement is not under the White Vote Movement, a campaign to generate the six million votes by mobilizing families into a voting bloc supporting candidates following the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.

“It’s not under the White Vote Movement it’s under the El Shaddai community,” Vargas explained.

He said, Velarde supported Magsaysay and Aquino after getting the assurance that the two candidates are pro-life.

They came to ask for help and Bro. Mike said to them they can only be endorsed if they have a change in conviction. Bro. Mike will not endorse if they are not pro-life,” Vargas revealed.

Vargas said the two candidates are set to sign a pledge of commitment to being pro-life on Saturday. They will also be formally presented during the El Shaddai gathering together with the other ten senatorial candidates earlier endorsed by White Vote Movement.

Vargas said Velarde sought clearance from the members of the White Vote Movement before he made the endorsement.

Earlier, Velarde endorsed Rep. Mitos Magsaysay of Zambales, Rep. JV Ejercito Estrada of San Juan, former Rep. Cynthia Villar of Las Piñas, and senators Aquilino Koko Pimentel, Antonio Trillanes and Gregorio Honasan. The group also endorsed Nancy Binay, Marwil Llasos and former senators Richard Gordon and Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri.
