Elasto Painters aim to bounce back from loss

RAIN or Shine faces Ginebra while NLEX Road Warriors and Globalport part ways Sunday in the 40th Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Commissioner’s Cup elimination round at the Cuneta Astrodome. The Ginebra Kings, NLEX Road Warriors and Globalport Batang Pier all bearing 4-4 win-loss records are locked at the 5th to 7th spots.

The Road Warriors take on Batang Pier at 3 p.m. while the Elasto Painters and the Gin Kings collide at 5:15 p.m.

The loser between NLEX and Globalport will join Barako Bull and Kia Carnival at 8th to 9th spots with barely two games remaining in the elimination round.

Coach Yeng Guiao of Rain or Shine wants his wards to bounce back following a 114-129 setback to San Miguel Beermen on Friday. Former Rain or Shine import Arizona Reid and reigning Most Valuable Player June Mar Fajardo combined with 71 points to hand the Elasto Painters their third setback against five victories. Guiao is expected to bank on the prowess of import Wayne Chism, who finished with 50 points and 14 rebounds in the previous game against SMB.
