AN election officer was shot dead an unidentified gunman on Sunday night in a remote village in Molo, Iloilo City, police reports said.
Reports reaching the PNP National Operation Center in Camp Crame on Monday identified the victim of the shooting incident as Raymund Valera, election officer of Dumangas town.
The reports said that the shooting incident took place at around 10 p.m. on Sunday in front of two gasoline stations in Molo, Iloilo City.
Valera was on board his AUV when an unidentified gunman on board a cab and fired shots at him around 10pm Sunday. He sustained gunshot wounds on the right side of his body.
Responding elements of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) recovered from the crime scene two deformed slugs of unknown caliber and the victim’s own .40 caliber pistol and personal belongings, the reports said.
Police investigators are looking into two possible motives on shooting the incident which could be election related or because of traffic altercation.
