‘Emong’ on way out


Tropical storm Emong maintained its strength as it continues to move northward and out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) this morning.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration
(Pagasa) said “Emong” was located 400 km East of Basco, Batanes on Wednesday afternoon, packing maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour near its center and gustiness of up to 90 kph.

It is expected to be 660 km northeast of Basco, Batanes today with an estimated rainfall amount within the 600 km diameter from 5–15 mm per hour (moderate to heavy).
