‘Emong’ out, ‘Fabian’ in

The low pressure area off the West Philippine Sea has developed into a tropical depression which the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) named Fabian.

Fabian was 290 km West of Iba, Zambales on Thursday, packing maximum winds of 55 kph near its center and moving north-northwest at 11 kph. It is expected to be 350 km west of Sinait, Ilocos Norte this morning.

Like Emong which has left the country, Fabian will enhance the southwest monsoon and will bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over the western section of Luzon particularly Palawan.

The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers mostly in the afternoon or evening.
