EMOTORS Inc., a fully Filipino-owned manufacturer and assembler of ZUM electric-powered tricycles (e-trikes), announced it had partnered with Pepsi-Cola Products Phils. Inc. (PCPPI) in promoting the use of clean and green, zero-emission electric vehicles.
PCPPI’s partnership with EMotors makes it the first multinational company from the beverage industry to use electric vehicles in its daily operations, EMotors said.
“This will enable us to deliver our world-class products to even more communities with minimum environmental impact,” said PCPPI President Partho Chakrabarti.
EMotors said that Pepsi’s entrepreneurs gain access to an affordable electric vehicle, which would enable them to expand their distribution coverage and serve more clients at a faster turnover rate. The company added that ZUM e-trike users can save at least P90 per 60-kilometer trip compared to a gasoline motorbike.
Also, the impact of using clean electric vehicles is massive, given Pepsi’s extensive nationwide network, EMotors added.
“The partnership between EMotors Inc. and PCPPI is a great leap toward shifting mindsets, giving greater appreciation on the impact of clean and green transport through the use of ZUM electric vehicles in Pepsi’s daily operations,” said EMotors President Elizabeth Lee.
EMotors said it is the country’s first manufacturer and assembler of e-trikes to be registered with the Board of Investment’s Motor Vehicle Development Program. It is also the first to be registered with the country’s Investments Priority Plan, which supports the government’s thrust in cleaning the environment. The company is also accredited with the Land Transportation Office.
