Empire East breaks ground on San Juan project

Property developer Empire East Land Holdings Inc. broke ground on Wednesday on its San Juan City-based Mango Tree Residences as the company marked its 21st anniversary.

The Mango Tree Residences is a two-tower high-rise condominium development on 3,000 square meters of land located on M. Paterno Street in San Juan City. The development will be composed of the 34-storey East Residences tower and the 38-storey West Residences Tower.

Target completion date for the project is in the fourth quarter of 2019.

Present during the groundbreaking were Empire East president and CEO Atty. Anthony Charlemagne Yu and a bevy of beauty queens from the 2015 Binibining Pilipinas winners, namely Second Runner-Up Kimverlyn Suiza, Bb. Pilipinas-Tourism Ann Lorraine Colis, Bb. Pilipinas-Intercontinental Christi McGarry, Bb. Pilipinas-International Janicel Lubina and Bb. Pilipinas-Universe Pia Wurtzbach.

The groundbreaking ceremony was followed by the grand opening of the Empire East Showroom for the Covent Garden Residences at the ground level of SM City Sta. Mesa, which was also graced by Atty. Yu and the Binibining Pilipinas winners.

Both the Mango Tree Residences and the Covent Garden Residences were launched by Empire East in 2014.

Last June, Atty. Yu said that both projects have received an unprecedented amount of inquiries.

Empire East earlier reported reservation sales of P22 billion in 2014 from its projects and managed condominiums.

The company plans to launch two mixed-use developments this year — a 23-hectare lot in Pasig City and a 1.7-hectare property in Quezon City where Broadway Centrum is currently located.
