Battery manufacturer Energizer will host the charity run Energizer Night Race on June 27 at Filinvest City in Alabang, Muntinlupa City. The goal of the marathon is to raise P1 million for indigent children.
The three-kilometer open loop run will last for two hours and is expected to draw in over 3,000 runners.
The Energizer Night Race is an international event that first started in 2010. This year’s edition will be the sixth and the first open loop run in the country.
Energizer, in partnership with Bantay Bata 163, announced in a press conference at Hotel Rembrandt in Quezon City on Monday that it would donate 100 pesos for every three-kilometer lap that a runner will complete. They encouraged runners to finish as many laps as they can within the allotted time.
“Energizer lighting up lives. It’s something that is so beautiful because for the foundation [Bantay Bata] we want to do a service for the Filipinos, which is the same with ABS-CBN. The fact that we have so many programs including six big ones, the most relevant and maybe the most constant program of the foundation would be for the children and environment,” said Bantay Bata managing director Clarissa Ocampo.
For a registration fee of P700, a runner would receive a black and orange Energizer singlet, a radio frequency identification race bib, a Schick Xtreme 3 Razor as well as an Energizer cap and headlight.
