• Energy agencies to meet on Mindanao transmission woes

Country’s top power sector officials will be meeting in Davao City this Thursday to thresh out concerns on power transmissions and find long-term solutions to issues on the right-of-way (ROW) and the transmission lines of the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) in Mindanao. The meeting will be held at the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) to also tackle security incidents in more than a dozen transmission towers. Sec. Luwalhati Antonino, chair of MinDA explained that while Mindanao is currently enjoying a steady supply of power for the first time in about 10 years, prevailing issues affecting the transmission towers in Mindanao could hamper this positive supply outlook.
