SENATE Minority Leader Juan Ponce Enrile was brought to the Makati Medical Center (MMC) late Tuesday night after catching dengue fever.
The information was given by Enrile’s daughter Katrina Ponce Enrile in a radio interview on Wednesday.
According to her, the veteran lawmaker is under observation at the MMC after being diagnosed with dengue.
“His platelet count went down already, he was positive for dengue, they [doctors]are monitoring him,” Katrina said.
Enrile was hospitalized less than a month after he was allowed to be released from detention by the Supreme Court after posting bail.
He is facing plunder and other graft-related cases in connection with his supposed involvement in the multibillion-peso pork barrel scam.
