THE Eastern Police District (EPD) is scouting for more funds to expand its Adopt-a-Pupil program, which aims to provide school supplies to children of suspected drug users and pushers who have surrendered to the police. EPD Director Chief Supt. Romulo Sapitula, who initiated the project, said they are targeting children of surrenderers between 6 and 11 years old. Some 25 children have already benefited from the project and Sapitula said they are extending to cover more beneficiaries. The EPD chief said he believes that through this project, the police will be able to regain the trust of the public.
