Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada has decided to revive “Eraptions,” a compilation of his jokes.
But this time, his jokes will appear on a new platform – social media.
As of yesterday, the Facebook page called “Eraptions: Erap’s Best Jokes” (https://www.facebook.com/Eraptions-1175240459154505/?fref=ts) has gotten more than 15,000 likes.
One of his most liked joke is about “Balimbing” (star fruit) which is running out of supply because of political turncoats. He said almost every politician has joined the party of President Rodrigo Duterte.
Estrada is well known for his good sense of humor, a talent that helped him win the 2010 elections in this city.
When asked if he plans to reorganize the opposition United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) of which he was a founding member and realign it to support President Duterte,
Estrada replied the party is hard-put in finding members.
“It will take time to gather them,” he said, referring to the depleted ranks of the opposition.
Estrada said he and former vice president Jejomar Binay have yet to talk about the coalition’s next move after the change of administration.
Asked if he will be an opposition, Estrada replied: “Well, it depends. As of now I’m all out in supporting the programs of the new President.”
Estrada’s Puwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP) is now the only primary party of UNA after Binay left PDP-Laban and resigned as its chairman in March 2014. The former vice president relaunched UNA as the major opposition party last year.
PMP and PDP Laban, then headed by Binay, signed a coalition agreement on April 4, 2012 for the 2013 elections, forming UNA. Estrada and Binay ran together in the 2010 presidential elections.
