Former national team member Janette Escallona copped two gold medals at the start of the canoe-kayak/dragonboat competitions of the Philippine Olympic Committee-Philippine Sports Commission (POC-PSC) Philippine National Games on Friday at the Manila Bay in Roxas Boulevard, Manila.

The 27-year-old Escallona ruled the women’s kayak touring 5,000-meter race in 30 minutes and 25.14 seconds, ahead of silver medalist Rosalyn Esguerra (31:27.95) and bronze winner Leonita Banlat (34:28.11).
