Estrada gives P1.7M to centenarians

MANILA Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada on Tuesday handed out total cash gift of P1.7 million to 17 centenarians. The P100,000 cash gift for every centenarian is a token of gratitude by the city for all their sacrifices, Estrada said, after personally giving cash to Leopolda Robble of Barangay 753 of Singalong and Natividad Martinez of Barangay 860. Robble is 103 years old, while Natividad is 100. The Manila Times learned that the P100,000 gift to city residents who reached 100 years of age is guaranteed under Sangguniang Panglunsod Resolution 131.
