Eton Properties Philippines Inc. is bullish about the country’s business process outsourcing (BPO) sector as a credible market.
The property development arm of business tycoon Lucio Tan recently broke ground for its latest office development in Quezon City.
In a statement, Eton Properties noted the Cyberpod Five is its fifth office building at the Eton Centris mixed-use complex.
“We are expanding our footprint in the business process outsourcing industry, with Cyberpod Five providing another 43,200 square meters of leasable area,” Eton Properties Deputy COO Josefino Lucas said.
Eton Properties noted the new office building will cater to the BPO companies.
“Strategically located at the gateway of Quezon City’s emerging Triangle Park Central Business District along EDSA, Eton Centris continues to be the preferred convergence point in Quezon City,” Eton Properties said.
The company also announced the expansion plan for Centris Walk, the open air commercial strip in the area.
“The expansion of Centris Walk will likewise enhance the existing promenade of dining choices, specialty shops, fitness studios, and fun family activities to offer more lifestyle options for everyone,” Lucas said.
Eton has four buildings in Centris, providing 24/7 office solutions to BPO and IT companies.
Earlier, Eton noted its bullish outlook for the office sector and is bent on spending around P9 billion for four BPO buildings.
Aside from the 25-story Cyberpod Five building, other office BPO projects in the pipeline are the four-story eWestPod in Makati City, the high-rise BPO building Sunrise Ortigas in Pasig City; and the 33-story BPO building Emerald Ruby in Ortigas Center.
“By the next five years the total [gross leasable area]will increase by an additional 200,000 square meters, so it will bring it to around 315,000 by the year 2020. But it will progressively increase in between as the other BPOs are completed,” Eton Properties Chief Finance Office Wilfredo Pineda said.
