Former Cavite governor Juanito “ Johnny” Remulla Sr. was laid to rest on Wednesday morning at the Angelus Eternal Garden in Imus City. He passed away on Monday at the age of 81 due to multiple organ failure at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Muntinlupa City. Thousands of supporters, allies and foes of the late executive flocked in Nuestra Señora Pilar Cathedral in Imus City, Cavite. Former governor Remulla is the father of Juanito “Jonvic” Remulla Jr., the current governor of Cavite. He was a lawyer and a business executive before he entered government service. He is survived by his wife, Ditas Catibayan, and seven children, including former congressmen Jesus Crispin and Gilbert Remulla. He was born on April 14, 1933 in Toclong, Imus City, Cavite to Crispin Remulla and Teofista Reyes. He will be most remembered as the “father of modernization, where the economy started to boom in his administration.
