THE Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday announced the arrest of five members of a kidnap for ransom (KFR) gang and the rescue of their six-year-old victim over the weekend in Carmona, Cavite. PNP deputy chief for administration, Deputy Director General Felipe Rojas, identified the suspects as Noel Raymundo, Noel Talledo, Fernan Maala, Elias de Leon and Efren Marcina. Rojas said Raymundo and Talledo were arrested by operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) who swooped down on the group’s hideout on Thursday in Baranay Dalivan, Carmona, Cavite. The rest of the kidnappers were arrested by AKG operatives in follow-up operations in Laguna and Rizal after the rescue of the young kidnap victim, the PNP official said. “The said group is also believed to be responsible for the earlier kidnapping of another young girl in Tanay, Rizal, in November,” he said. AKG director, Sr. Supt. Renato Gumban, said Raymundo was a former member of the Philippine Air Force and de Leon was a former policeman.
