• Ex-PNP chief seeks permit for checkup

Former Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Avelino Razon asked the Sandiganbayan’s Fourth Division for a furlough to undergo medical test and examination at a private hospital. Razon, 63, has been detained at the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame over graft and malversation charges in connection with alleged ghost repair of 28 V-150 light armored vehicles worth about P400 million in 2007 to 2008. In a motion filed on Feb. 5, Razon said he “has a scheduled repeat CT stonogram (currently not available at the PNP General Hospital) at the St. Luke’s Medical Center on 15 February 2016 at 10 to 11a.m.” He is also scheduled for diabetes check-up on the same day from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., as well as a kidney check-up on Feb. 18 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, it added.
