Ex-rebel turned drug pusher gunned down

A FORMER New People’s Army (NPA) rebel who turned drug pusher and hitman for a bigtime local drug trafficker was killed by two unidentified gunmen inside his residence in a remote village in Lucena City on Friday.

Lucena City Police Chief, Supt. Dennis de Leon identified the victim as Danilo Enopia Morsiquillo alias ‘Danilo Lusterio/ Arman Alcala, 61, of Barangay Cotta.

He said the victim and his live-in partner – Milacris Lincuran – were asleep when the gunmen barged into their house and shot Morsiquillo dead.
Lincuran was unharmed.

De Leon said that Morsiquillo was a former communist guerilla who went into the illegal drug trade and allegedly served as hitman of a local bigtime drug trafficker identified as Cerilo ‘Athel’ Alcala.

Cerilo was reported to be the younger brother of former Agriculture Secretary Proceso Alcala and was arrested by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in 2008 in a raid at their ancestral home in the same barangay, located at the outskirts of Lucena City.
