SAN ANTONIO, Texas: Two-time league scoring champion Tracy Mc-Grady, a member of the playoff runner-up San Antonio Spurs last season, announced his retirement from the National Basketball Associa-tion. The seven-time all-star McGrady also played in the Chinese Basket-ball Association last season for the Qingdao Eagles. The 34-year-old Mc-Grady was the ninth overall pick in the 1997 draft out of high school. In 2001, he was named the NBA’s most improved player. McGrady averaged 19.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists in 938 career games with Toronto, Orlando, Houston, New York, Detroit, Atlanta and San Antonio.
