CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga: That Central Luzon Police Director Chief Supt. Aaron Aquino warned more drug pushers will be killed if they will not mend their ways as soon as President-elect Rodrigo Duterte assumes office on June 30.
Aquino, the new regional police director, said about 14 drug pushers have been killed during operations in the region since he took over on May 30.
“No one will be spared, including police officers and public officials, who are involved in the illegal trade,” he stressed.
Meanwhile, Aquino said an armed encounter in Sitio Dike, in Plaridel, Bulacan on Saturday left a notorious drug pusher dead while eight other suspects, including two women, were arrested.
He identified the slain suspect as Jason Adriano, alias “Bilog.” Arrested while holding a pot session were Alfonzo Tanglao; John Philip de la Cruz; Jocelyn Espidido; Desiree Santos; Reynaldo Garcia; Niño Santos; Rodolfo Fabian and Arwin de la Cruz.
Plaridel Municipal Police Station officer-in-charge Supt. Andrew Aguirre said the operation was conducted upon confirmation that “Bilog” and his cohorts had boarded a vehicle parked at the entrance of the Sitio Dike area, and were seen distributing shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride).
However, the suspects sensed the ongoing police operation and fired at the approaching policeman, and a brief firefight ensued that resulted to the death of suspect Adriano.
