Exports continue to drop in May

External demand for Philippine products continued to drop as May shipments slip 3.8 percent to $4.71 billion from $4.89 billion a year earlier pulling total shipment for the first five months of the year down by 6.6 percent to $22.07 billion from  $23.63 billion in the corresponding period of 2015.

Data the Philippine Statistics Authority released Tuesday showed that the export item that suffered the most was other mineral, falling 43.8 percent.
