The whole country will have generally fair weather in the next two to three days due to ridge of high-pressure area (HPA) extending across Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Tuesday.
Weather Forecaster Manny Mendoza said due to monsoon break, the whole country including Metro Manila will continue to have sunny with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms or convections.
He added that the HPA is the opposite of the low-pressure area and associated with clear skies.
Mendoza attributed this warm weather to “monsoon break” that is expected to last until two to three days.
He also said that the agency has not monitored any weather disturbance near the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
But Mendoza noted it expects at least three or four cyclones to hit the country this peak month of September.
In its advisory, Pagasa said that light to moderate winds blowing from the northwest to northeast prevails over Northern Luzon becoming light to moderate winds coming from the northeast to east over the rest of the country.
The coastal waters throughout the entire archipelago will be slight to moderate. PNA
