When not busy doing community work with the Rotary Club of Makati North, Dieter Brueckner is just as happy fulfilling his primary role as head of his family.
Blissfully married to his Filipina wife, Lynn, of 24 years, he is also a doting father to young lady named Gabrielle, who is a Business Management student at the De La Salle University.
Devoted to his girls, Brueckner makes it a point to bring his daughter to and from school everyday.
“I am her driver,” he proudly declared.
For what he calls his “daily bread and butter,” Brueckner is the distributor of a medicated toothpaste from Germany prescribed by dentists for many years.
“It’s a niche product that is available only at Mercury Drugstores. It helps avoid bleeding of gums, and prevents teeth enamel from being too sensitive to temperature.”
Now in his 70s, Brueckner also used to teach International Business at the De La Salle University.
Asked why he stayed and settled in the Philippines for good, he answered, “The Philippines is as good as any other country for a retiree as long as that person has an open mind. I accepted this country mainly because of its people and environment. More importantly, I accepted things that I cannot change.”
