Century Properties went all out in launching its first retail development, the Century City Mall, in Kalayaan Avenue, Makati.
After an official grand opening on March 24, the developer upped the ante with a fashion-forward launch event three days later and invited no less than Manila’s chicest and well-heeled set to experience the vibe of what is touted as the Mall of Modern Makati.
Young Filipino designer Francis Libiran was handpicked by developer Century Properties to radiate the mall’s cool, captivating and modern character through global-inspired and futuristic creations.
In choosing Libiran to do the collection, Marco Antonio, Century’s chief operating officer said, “The mall itself gives off a creatively unique vibe in terms of architecture, tenant mix and its social spaces. And so we worked with a global Filipino designer who shares our passion for creativity, and who is very much in line with the modern vibe of Century City Mall.”
Held at the mall’s fourth level al fresco space, the show “Fashion of the Century” featured a visual spectacle of models in geometric pieces that are almost architectural in structure—a fitting tribute to Century Mall’s energy.
A play of electronic and projected lights added even more panache to the fashion creations, which were presented with an incredible symphony of music and light and water fountain show that matched the models’ runway choreography.
Revving up the party were event hosts Raymond Gutierrez and Joey Mead, who also came in Francis Libiran creations.
“We were very excited to share this vision of extraordinary design and retail achievement, so we made the affair something truly special,” said Century City Mall general manager Graham Coates.
The fashion show culminated with a toast led by Antonio. “Our flagship mall devel–opment aims to deliver a great and differentiated customer experience, and a forward-thinking way of doing retail in Metro Manila,” Antonio concluded.
The toast followed a spectacular fireworks display that lighted up the Makati night sky and a victorious party to celebrate yet another coup for Century Properties.
