• Fashioning a playful Filipino Christmas

Inspired by classic children’s toys such as yoyos, pick-up sticks, building blocks, puzzles, and toy soldiers, homegrown fashion brand Bayo 2016 has unveiled a holiday collection with silhouettes, cuts, and prints that will surely take Filipinas down memory lane in time for the Christmas season.

Titled “Style Harvest: A Playful Holiday,” the pieces feature cheerful Christmas color—mainly reds, yellows, greens and blues—in fun and trendy tops, pants, skirts, and dresses.

Style Harvest is Bayo’s collaborative brand that was especially launched in 2013 to promote Filipino creativity by partnering with communities and organizations that cultivate local ingenuity. This year, they found an ally in KIDS 4 Others (Kids in Dedicated Service 4 Others) to complete their playful take on holiday fashion.

Anna Lagon, the label’s creative director, related, “We literally had a playful time while working on the various pieces along with unique artworks inspired by iconic toys. [The process] did bring out the child in us. After all, this season, is the happiest time of the year not only for the young, but also for the young at heart.”

She made sure to point out, “Design sensibilities remain classic and elegant all the same, which are consistent with what Bayo is all about.”

Part of the proceeds from the Playful Holiday collection will go to Concordia Children’s Services and Gentle Hands, Inc. to celebrate the season of giving.
