FAST TIMES BAGS 4TH HENRY FORD AWARDS
Motoring section of The Manila Times honored for relevant content, quality layout
Fast Times, the weekly motoring section of The Manila Times, was again adjudged as the Best Automotive Broadsheet during Ford Motor Co.’s 15th Henry Ford Awards (HFA) held late Tuesday at the Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati City. It was Fast Times’ fourth HFA win and second back-to-back award since 2011.
Fast Times Editor Anjo Perez accepted the award from Ford Philippines Assistant Vice President for Marketing and Sales Minnie Valencia-Bustamante.
Fast Times edged out first runner-up Malaya and third-placer BusinessWorld. Fast Times first won the title during the 10th HFA in 2011 and then again during the 14th HFA last year.
The HFA is the country’s sole award-giving body that honors and recognizes motoring-media practitioners and publications that strengthen public awareness of the Philippine motoring industry. The Best Automotive Broadsheet title, one of 14 HFA categories, is awarded based on content, relevance, consistency and layout quality. All national automotive broadsheets are automatically nominated for the award.
“Our annual Henry Ford Awards does not only set the caliber for our media friends to hone their craft, but also builds an esteemed standard of recognition that honors honest, credible and professional journalists who have helped shape the motoring industry to what it is today,” said Ford Philippine Assistant Vice President for Communications Joseph Ayllon.
The Times’ Fast Times had expanded over the years. From four pages, it has grown into an eight-page section.
