FORD Motor Co. on December 5 will unveil the all-new, sixth generation version of what is considered America’s most iconic car. It will debut in six cities around the world—Dearborn, New York, Los Angeles, Barcelona, Shanghai and Sydney (Fast Times will cover the Australia leg of the event; watch out for the report on December 10). Making the event doubly special is that the “pony car” is scheduled to celebrate its 50th year in production next year.
To count down this highly anticipated moment, Ford teamed up with Facebook and Instagram to showcase what the Mustang has meant to its millions of fans in the last five decades and how it continues to inspire people around the world.
“The Mustang has come to be much more than just a car for its legions of fans spanning the globe,” said Jim Farley, executive vice president of Ford global marketing, sales and service. “When you experience the Mustang, it ignites a sense of optimism and independence that inspires us all.”
Ford has invited people to share their photographs of inspiration using the #MustangInspires hashtag on Instagram, Facebook and other social media platforms. The tagged photos and videos will appear on www.mustanginspires.com.
To build even more anticipation for the all-new Mustang, Ford has used Instagram (instagram.com/ford) to release the first image of the new car.
