American hip hop promoter and radio personality Fatman Scoop will boom his famed voice live in Metro Manila come June 28 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

Isaac Freeman III, better known by his stage name Fat Man Scoop, is known for the track
“Be Faithful,” which went to No. 1 in the United Kingdom Ireland in the Fall of 2003, as well as the Top 5 in Australia and Denmark. The song has been a favorite in clubs around the world for years but it took two years to clear the samples from Jay-Z, Black Sheep, Queen Pen, The Beatnuts and Faith Evans.

He was nominated at the 2005 Grammy Award for Best Rap Song and Best Short Form Music Video (“Lose Control” with Missy Elliott and Ciara), bagging the latter.

In 2006, he won Best R&B/Soul or Rap Dance Cut for the same song.

Fat Man’s visit to the Philippines has been dubbed “The Swerve 2013,” and will also hit the Party Place Concert Bar in San Fernando, Pampanga, on June 29.

Both shows will feature exciting performances from local artists including Abra, LDP, Loonie and Ron Henley.

The Manila Times is a sponsor of Fat Man Scoop’s two-night concert. For Manila tickets, call SM Tickets (470-2222) or TicketWorld (891-9999); and for Pampanga tickets, text or call Sam Bennett (0916-5577008).
