CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija: A former barangay chairman and his son, a known suspected big-time drug trafficker, were arrested here after a raid on their houses which yielded P300,000 worth of shabu and firearms on Tuesday. Senior Supt. Antonio Yarra, police provincial director, identified the arrested suspects as Leonilo Sacdal, 54, former village chairman, and his son Emmerson, 32, both of Purok 4 in Barangay Pula. Recovered from the house of the older Sacdal were a caliber 45 pistol, drug paraphernalia, including an improvised toother. Seized from Emerson’s house was shabu weighing 176 grams estimated worth P300,000. Emerson admitted to the police that the supply came from alleged notorious drug dealers Ferdinand Reyes and Danilo Llanes Jr., who were killed last Friday in a gunfight with the police during a sting in Barangay Bantug Norte in this city. City chief of police Supt. Ponciano Zapra said the suspects’ names were among those listed in the blue book of Reyes and Llanes, including other drug dealers and alleged police protectors. Emerson surrendered last July 10 but reportedly returned to trading illegal drugs.
