SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union: A man brought his son and nephew to the police after they were implicated in the murder of their schoolmate here. Bernard Lopez surrendered his son, Brylle, 19, and nephew Bryan Garcia, 19, who were accused of killing of Jerome Lopez, 18. Brylle and Bryan are both freshmen while Jerome was a third year student at Northern Philippines College for Maritime Science Technology (NPCMST). Police director PSupt. Julius Suriben said Brylle and Bryan of Barangay Nagsabaran in Balaoan were positively identified by the victim’s cousin, Unica Nodora, 20, as among the six students who mauled and killed Jerome. The other students who allegedly joined the mauling were Rommel Gagua of Nagsabaran Norte, Balaoan, La Union; Aaron Tapiz, 16, of Planas, Ramon, Isabela; Christian Abayon, 16, of San Ramon, Manabo, Abra; and Mequiades Corpuz, 18, of Biday, San Fernando, La Union—all are freshmen students taking up Marine Engineering. San Fernando Police Insp. Vanessa Gabot said Jerome and his companions, Nodora, Caselyn Nebrida, 18; Jeffrey Sintos, 21, of Cala-aoan, Candon City, Ilocos Sur and Honesto Ancheta, 18, of Talyaoen, Luna, La Union, were eating burger at restaurant when Brylle’s group approached Caselyn and maliciously touch her. Jerome tried to intervene but was mauled leading to his death.
