AYALA-LED Fort Bonifacio Development Corp. (FBDC) expects the number of office workers seeking dormitory-type facilities to reach 220,000 by 2019, according to the company.
FBDC, the master developer of Bonifacio Global City, estimates that 120,000 office workers are in need of dormitory-type facilities and 100,000 will be added by 2019, said FBDC Business Development Property Planning and Office Leasing Manager Eli Yaneza said.
The company recently launched The Flats BGC at 5th Avenue, which will rise along BGC’s 5th Avenue across St. Luke’s Medical Center, and will be accessible to major thoroughfares like EDSA, Kalayaan Ave., C-5 Road, and 32nd Avenue. The target market for the facilities are office and business process outsourcing (BPO) workers. It will offer fully-furnished rooms with beds and mattresses, workstation, wardrobe cabinet, toilet and bath, and a mini kitchen.
The 16-storey development will have 375 units available upon completion that will provide a total of 1,500 beds.
“FBDC wants to provide them alternative and relatively more affordable housing options to save them hours of commuting into the city considering the traffic congestion these days,” Yeneza said.
The company is now accepting corporate accounts where companies can enter into lease agreements on behalf of their employees.
