Filipino football club FC Forza bagged the Silver Cup first runner-up trophy at the 2015 Borneo Cup held in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia on Sunday.
The 12 members of the under-15 age group team competed for three straight days against Malaysian teams. FC Forza Youth Academy, the football school under the second tier United Football League Club is composed of players from Don Bosco Makati, Don Bosco Mandaluyong and Paref Westbridge Iloilo.
“We joined Borneo Cup for the players to experience international matches and for them to showcase their skills and talent in a new environment outside the Philippines,” head coach Myk Agabayani told The Manila Times.
Agabayani said that they had difficulties with the rigorous schedule of the tilt as fatigue started to take its toll.
“It’s three days straight competition and I was only able to bring 12 players in the squad. Only having one substitute for the team is very hard. Two of the players on the linenup wasn’t able to join our squad,” he said.
Besides Forza U15, the Little Azkals U13 team and Quezon City Football club U12 will also represent the Philippines in the ongoing regional youth-level tournament.
