The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has banned 16 cosmetic products from being sold in the Philippine market.

Mostly from China, the products were also ordered to be removed immediately from the market to prevent the public from buying them.

“The FDA declares that the cosmetic products are unsafe and pose imminent danger or injury to consumers because they were not manufactured in compliance with the standards and requirements of the Code of Current Good Manufacturing Practice; and orders their ban or seizure from public sale or distribution,” the FDA Advisory No. 2013-019 stated.

The banned products were Baiyansu Three-in-One Whitening Set; Beauty Girl Green Cucumber 6 Days Double Whitening Soft Essence Cream; Bihuayn Whitening Day Cream; Care Skin Strong Whitening and Spot Removing Package; Gakadi Freckle Removing Cream; Huayuenong 12 Days Whitening and Speckle Removing Wrecking Set; White Advance Hydroxytyrosol L-Glutathione Whitening and Anti-Aging Cream; and Yudantang Ginseng and Green Cucumber 10 Days Whitening Speckles Removed Essence.

The FDA said the banned products were suspected of containing high levels of heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, mercury, and arsenic.

“Continuous use of these products may cause adverse or allergic reactions that can result to severe or irreversible skin problem,” FDA said.

The FDA also urged the public to use products that are government-registered to ensure safety.

  1. I’ve been saying for years that the Chinese are no good.
Strangely enough the Philippine government seems to be in bed with the Chinese.
When are the Filipinos going to realize that the Chinese don’t like nor do they care about the people in the Philippines. They (The Chinese) only care about making huge profits, exploiting, harming, stealing from the Philippines.
Even the Middle Eastern country use you up, abuse you and throw you away like trash.
It would be wise to reject China and Chinese products and renew ties with the American’s, Australians and the German people.
At lease they are compassionate investors with consideration for the environment and human beings.
