FENCING kicks off late this month and athletics unfurls early in December as the second semester hostilities in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 76 heat up.
University of the East (UE) tries to repeat as men’s and women’s champions in fencing which gets going on November 28 at the Ateneo Blue Eagle gym. The competitions are set for four days.
UE won the last six women’s titles while the Red Warriors ended a three-year title drought last season, bagging for the school is eighth crown, the most by any UAAP school.
Justine Gail Tinio won the Season 75 Rookie-Most Valuable Player honors in the women’s division, and so did 16-year-old Nathaniel Perez in the men’s side.
Also up is the four-day athletics meet starting on December 5 at the De La Salle University-Dasmariñas stadium.
In Season 75, multi-titled Far Eastern University swept the women’s and men’s divisions for the third straight year.
