The Fessap officials met International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach along with 128 other member countries.

As guest speaker during the FISU assembly, Bach immensely praised FISU’s contributions to the youth development progress in the world through university student–athletes’ participation in sports for all.

After the assembly, the delegates visited the Olympic museum. “The idea of visiting the museum goes back to Pierre de Coubertin, who revived the Olympic games and founded the International Olympic Committee,” said Ong.

The Olympic museum, which was opened in 1993 in Ouchy, Lausanne, reflects the spirits of the sports games, which brings the nations together. The Museum is the largest information center on the subject of Olympic games in the world.

During the assembly, Fessap presented its intention to host the 16th World University Golf Championship (WUGC) in 2018.

Fessap’s bid was considered by the FISU International Committee’s Leonz Eder and WUGC Director Paulo Ferreira in Brussels, Belgium.

The proposed golf course presented by Fessap Pres. David Ong, will be at the Orchard Golf and Country Club in Dasmarinas City, Cavite.
