• FEU-Diliman survives, faces UE girls next in UAAP volley


    FAR Eastern University-Diliman overcame a third set loss to turn back Adamson University, 26-24, 25-20, 19-25, 25-20, and keep its semifinals hopes alive in the girls division of the UAAP Season 79 high school volleyball tournament on Tuesday.

    The Baby Tamaraws pounced on the Baby Falcons late game errors to win the first of do-or-die matches at the Adamson University gym.

    FEU-Diliman will face University of the East in another knockout game, this time for the remaining berth in the stepladder semifinals at 3 p.m. tomorrow at the same San Marcelino venue.

    By sweeping the 12-game elimination round, three-peat seeking National University jumped straight to the best-of-three championship.

    University of Santo Tomas has secured a twice-to-beat advantage in the stepladder semis after finishing second with a 10-2 record.

    De La Salle-Zobel wound up third with a 8-4 card. The Junior Lady Spikers will take on either the Junior Warriors or the Baby Tamaraws in the first stepladder match on Saturday.
