• FEU tames Lady Bulldogs in UAAP volleyball


    Far Eastern University subdued National University, 27-25, 25-17, 22-25, 26-28, 15-10, in University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) women’s volleyball on Saturday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

    Playmaker Bernadeth Pons finished with 30 points including 27 kills and two aces for FEU that now occupies the number four spot with six wins and five losses.

    Pons was supported by Toni Rose Basas and Jerrili Malabanan who chipped in 21 points, and 20 points respectively.

    FEU, however, registered more error, 41, compared to NU’s 23.

    NU dropped to the fifth spot with five wins and six losses.

    Jaja Santiago highlighted her performance for NU with 22 kills, two blocks and four aces while team captain Myla Pablo had 17 points.

    In the men’s division, Ateneo de Manila University defeated University of Santo Tomas, 25-18, 21-25, 25-19, 25-16.

    Ysrael Marasigan finished with 17 while Marck Espejo had 16 in 15 spikes.

    Joshua Villanueva and Rex Intal both had 12 apiece for the Blue Eagles.

    Also in the men’s division, Adamson U overpowered De La Salle University, 17-25, 25-21, 19-25, 25-20, 15-13, in five grueling sets.

    Best scorer of the game was Dave Pletado who scored 19 points for Adamson while Raymark Woo notched 39 markers for La Salle.
