Filipino-American Treat Conrad Huey and British partner Dominic Inglot are in the finals of the Swiss Indoors tennis championships in Basel, Switzerland.
Huey and Inglot posted a hard-fought 7-6 (3), 7-6 (2) win over Michael Llondra and Nicolas Mahut of France in the semis of the the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) World Tour event.
The duo scored 78 total points to the French pair’s 68.
Huey and Inglot arranged a championship showdown with Austrians Julian Knowle and Oliver Marach, who stunned third seeds Marcin Matkowski and Mariusz Fyrstenberg of Poland, 6-4, 7-6 (4).
Huey and Inglot earlier defeated second picks Aisam Qureshi of Pakistan and Jean-Julien Rojer of the Netherlands in the first-round [3-6, 7-6 (7-4), 10-8] then ousted Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan and Horacio Zeballos of Argentina in the quarterfinals [6-4, 7-6 (5)].
Huey and Inglot are looking to clinch their first title this year. They had a couple of runner-up trophies from the Winston-Salem tournament in North Carolina, USA, and the Dusseldorf tournament in Germany.
They reached the quarterfinals of the US Open in September, and made it to the third round of the Wimbledon Championships in July and French Open in May.
