• File 3rd batch of pork raps, Ombudsman prodded

Anakpawis party-list on Thursday urged the Office of the Ombudsman to speed up the filing of charges against the third batch of lawmakers allegedly involved in the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam.

“It is good to know that even small fish, Liberal Party members and allies have been formally charged by the Office of the Ombudsman. But the fight is still far from over because other lawmakers involved in the PDAF scam have yet to be charged, held accountable and put behind bars,” Rep. Fernando Hicap said.

Hicap said the public expects justice to be served the soonest time possible.

“The former Supreme Court associate justice should not blame the critics because the case is taking too long to process and also the filing of appropriate complaints against those who are involved in the PDAF scam. She should understand the sentiments of the public. We all want closure and justice,” the lawmaker said, referring to Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales.
