The Filipinas will compete in various divisions including the Elite Junior, Basic Junior, Basic Novice and Basic Juvenile.

They will be facing top figure skaters from China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Taiwan and Thailand in the tournament hosted by the Hong Kong Skating Union and sanctioned by the Asian Skating Union.

Recently, the national figure skating team won a gold in the International Skating Union Asian Open Figure Skating Trophy held in Bangkok, Thailand.

Sochi Winter Olympics veteran Michael Martinez bagged the lone gold after ruling the men’s senior category while Sofia Guidote finished fourth out of 21 skaters in the ladies’ Novice B.

Martinez and Sofia were the highest finishers among skaters from the Southeast Asian region. The other members of the team are Gaby Panlilio and Jules Alpe.
