An overseas Filipina worker (OFW) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was allegedly raped by the Pakistani driver of her employer in October 2013.
But according to the Khalleej Times, the 28-year-old driver on Thursday pleaded innocent and denied that he raped his employer’s househelp.
The report said the driver was giving the 20-year-old Filipina a ride to a shopping mall to buy gifts for their employer’s family when the incident happened.
He allegedly drove to a sandy location near a school in Al Muraqqabat where he abused the Filipina.
The Filipina said the Pakistani driver molested her inside her employer’s car even though the complainant resisted and hit him with the pen she was holding.
“When I realized that he changed the direction he told me he would return home to take another car but he went to a sandy and dark area,” the Filipina said in the report.
She said the Pakistani gagged her to stop her from screaming.
After the Pakistani dropped her at the shopping store, the Filipina immediately called her employer’s wife on the phone and informed her of the incident.
She also called the police, who then took her statement and arrested the Pakistani shortly after the incident.
The policeman arrested the defendant in the parking lot of the shopping mall in Al Mamzar.
The maid sustained back, hand, and chest injuries due to the assault.
The report said the Filipina cried, and was in a state of shock as she narrated the incident in the police station.
The Pakistani, on the other hand, was seen to have scratches on his neck.
The Filipina also added that the defendant had previously flirted with her but she refused his advances.
