They asked for it, now they have it.
After clamoring for Jimmy Choo’s Made-to-Order (MTO) Service, Filipinas can finally have their customized pairs of the famous shoe brand for the most special day.
Until September 30, the limited time offer allows customers to choose from signature styles matched with a myriad of colors, textures and finishes. Their MTO Jimmy Choos can be availed at the brand’s flagship store at the Shangri-La Plaza in Mandaluyong City.
On September 3, Jimmy Choo in the Philippines launched the MTO Service along with its 2015 Bridal collection, showing just why they are the footwear of choice when it comes to “I Dos.”
“The tradition of made-to-order shoes can be traced back to the roots of the brand and has continued quietly throughout the company’s evolution as it grew from a small London atelier to a global luxury fashion brand. Occasionally, by special request, a client would order a special fabrication, an exotic material or unique color for a special event, most notably on the red carpet, where Jimmy Choo made to order shoes continue to have a steady following,” Gina Bonoan, merchandising group manager of Jimmy Choo Philippines, told The Manila Times in an exclusive interview.
Moreover, she revealed that “well-traveled” Filipina fans of Jimmy Choo have already known the service, and that they have availed of it even before its arrival in the Philippines.
She said, “Through the MTO service, we are hoping to extend this unique service that we have been providing to celebrities, to our Filipina customers’ for their special occasions, as well as everyday use.”
As to what Filipinas mostly have customized, Bonoan noted replied that bridal shoes are on top of the list. Naturally, every bride wishes for unique and personal pieces to make up their look on their special day.
Future brides can choose from Jimmy Choo’s iconic silhouettes that include the Anouk, a pointy toe stiletto; Lance, a strappy sandal; Xenia, a crisscross sandal; and Alex, a stiletto pumps.
After the silhouette, women can then choose their preferred heel height and then the fabric or another material for the upper. Classic brides may choose from delicate suede, to glamorous glitter, to lustrous satin that comes in various colors too.
A favorite of Filipina brides according to Bonoan is still the iconic white satin. But interestingly, there are also choices for non-traditional brides like crocodile and snakeskin leathers.
Finally, making a customized pair unlike any other is the MTO’s additional monogram plate of initials or dates placed at the sole of the shoe. Many chose to put the date of their wedding day to immortalize the occasion through their bridal shoes.
Besides the MTO service, also presented was Jimmy Choo’s latest bridal collection, featuring strappy heels in lame glitter, pointy toe pumps with encrusted cut crystal, delicate panel heels, or platforms with towering heights.
Asked if Filipinas have always been fans of the brand’s bridal shoes, Bonoan answered, “Even before we launched the new season’s bridal collection and MTO service, most Filipinas would get Jimmy Choos for their wedding because of the beautiful selections ranging from classic and traditional, to modern and fashionable. With Jimmy Choo, every bride is bound to find her dream pair for her dream wedding.”
Jimmy Choo is exclusively distributed by Stores Specialist Inc. and is located at Rustan’s Makati and Shangri-La Plaza East Wing.
