• Filipino squad to compete in Asian Tenpin Championship


    The Philippines will send a contingent to the 17th Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championship slated September 7 to 14 at the 60-lane South China Athletic Association Bowling Center in Hong Kong.

    “The field will be tough this year due to the presence of powerhouse countries but we are all confident our players could bring home any medals,” said head coach Carlos De Leon.

    The boys’ team is composed of veteran Enrico Lorenzo Hernandez, Ivan Dominic Malig, Jose Mari Tajo and Jose Paolo Gabriel Darroca, while the girls’ team is made up of Madeline Mae Llamas, Jailah Mara Ramirez, Jhoana Lualhati and Christelle Peig.

    De Leon said that 21 nations are joining the tilt among them are powerhouse Korea, Australia, Singapore, Taiwan, Qatar, Macau, China, Egypt, Bahrain, Japan, Malaysia and host Hong Kong.
