FILIPINOS have recently shown huge interest in South Florida real estate, a United States-based group of property brokers disclosed on Monday.
In its website, the Miami Association of Realtors said the Philippines landed on the fifth place among foreign online visitors of the broker group’s online portal, Miamire.com, in December 2015.
“[It] was the country’s highest-ever finish,” the brokers’ group said.
Along with Filipinos, Spanish buyers also showed renewed interest in South Florida estate, placing seventh.
“Spain posted its highest appearance since it took sixth place in consecutive months of May 2013 and June 2013,” the Miami realtors said.
The top 10 countries showing interest in South Florida estate in December 2015, as indicated by visits to Miamire.com, were: Colombia, 1st; Brazil, 2nd; Venezuela, 3rd; Argentina, 4th; Philippines, 5th; India, 6th; Spain, 7th; Canada, 8th; France, 9th; and Puerto Rico, 10th.
Meanwhile, US-based property listing online portal Realtor.com said Florida topped the markets for overall international real estate demand.
The top 10 US locations were: 1st, Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach, Florida; 2nd, Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim, CA; 3rd, Bellingham, WA; 4th, New York-Newark-Jersey City, NY-NJ-PA; 5th, Urban Honolulu, HI; 6th, Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford, FL; 7th, Kahului-Wailuku-Lahaina, HI; 8th, Naples-Immokalee-Marco Island, FL; 9th, Watertown-Fort Drum, NY; and, 10th, Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL.
