SOME 1,000 Filipino workers who have been stuck in Iraq since 2014 can return to the Philippines and visit their families this Christmas then go back to their jobs there, the Foreign Affairs Department announced over the weekend.
Foreign Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano has approved the government’s Balik Manggagawa program that was put in place for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) returning to the Philippines either for a short vacation.
