Filipinos have much trust in Pope–SWS

More than seven out of 10 Filipinos have “much trust” in Pope Francis, a survey of Social Weather Stations (SWS) released on Wednesday showed.

The survey conducted from November 27 to December 1 last year showed that the net trust rating of Pope Francis was a “very good” +59 (72 percent much trust, 12 percent little trust).

“The Catholic Pope has always been highly regarded by Filipinos, with Pope John Paul II garnering the highest public trust in the history of SWS surveys,” the SWS said.

John Paul II’s rating rose to an all-time high of “excellent” +72 in April 1995 or three months after his second visit to Manila before it went to “very good” levels of +58 in December 2003 and +62 in March 2005.
