As a tribute to T’boli dreamweaver and Manlilikha ng Bayan Lang Dulay, who passed away in April, K’na the Dreamweaver will be screened this month at the UP Film Center, Fully Booked in Bonifacio Global City, Teatrino in Greenhills, and at the CCP Dream Theater.
Winner of the Special Jury Prize at the 2014 Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival, K’na the Dreamweaver tells the legend of K’na, a young T’boli princess who must choose between ending an age-old war between her village or following her heart to be with the man she loves.
Showcasing the natural beauty of South Cotabato in Mindanao, and the vibrant culture of the T’boli people and their tradition of t’nalak weaving, the film also won the award for Best Production Design at Cinemalaya.
The film has recently been screened at the South East Asian Film Festival in Singapore and the Filipino Film Festival in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Upcoming Manila screenings will be from June 12 to 18 at the UP Film Center; June 12 to 15 at Fully Booked in Bonifacio Global City; June 15 to 19 at Teatrino in Greenhills; and June 23 to 26 at the CCP Dream Theater.
